About The Fernandez Family
Please sign in to see more.
This website was created exclusively for Mr. Alfredo Fernandez and is exclusively designed to show ancestry to Gonzalo Fernandez de Castro of Nuevo Leon, . Most of the current Fernandez families on this tree come from the Villa de Garcia, Nuevo Leon, Mexico but have their original roots in Monterrey.

García is a municipality located to the northwest of the Monterrey metropolitan area in the state of Nuevo León, Mexico. García had, according to the 2005 census, a population of 145,867 persons. It borders the municipalities of Mina, Escobedo and Hidalgo to the north; to the south and east with Santa Catarina; and to the west with the state of Coahuila.

The municipality was named in honor of a Nuevo Leon native Joaquín García, who was born in the city
and who served two terms as governor of the state of Nuevo Leon. Before the name change, the municipality was called Hacienda de San Juan el Bautista de Pesquería Grande.

The images you find for marriages and baptisms are mostly from online microfilm records stored in Salt Lake City at the Church of Latter Day Saints (LDS). We genealogists owe a debt of gratitude for all their hard work in recording photo images of the baptism, confrimations, marriage, death and various other records both parochial and civil. Their efforts have had a MAJOR impact on our individual efforts to find and record our history.

For the Fernandez families please observe on this Home Page how to maneuver around and use the tools available to review your records. On baptisms and marriages and such please observe any link shown and copy and paste to your brower to view the microfilm image. Understanding and reading Spanish will be a must in order to gather the full benefits of reading a record. I have translated most of the information into English as I see it but make no mistakes, we are human and prone to errors.

To this date the Family Tree is 99% confirmed from Benito Fernandez Morales up to Antonio Fernandez
de la Cadena and Francisca Xaviera de la Garza who married about 1722.
